KENDALLVILLE, Ind. — Brenden Anthony Fearrin, a 33-year-old husband, father, and community member, died on January 17, 2026, following a tragic car and train collision in Kendallville, Indiana. His death has left family, friends, and loved ones mourning the loss of a man remembered for his devotion to family and gentle nature.
Fearrin was born on November 3, 1992, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Candance Jo (Fearrin) Lawrence and Erik David Burns. In 2015, he married Baylee Ann Ralston, whom family members describe as his soulmate. The couple wed on April 27, 2015, in the Martinsville area and later built a life centered on family and shared experiences.
The couple recently relocated to Kendallville, where Fearrin was a stay-at-home father to their three sons, Jayden, Jackson, and Josiah. Loved ones say he embraced the role wholeheartedly, creating a home filled with warmth, structure, and joy. His dedication to parenting and family life was a defining aspect of who he was.
Those who knew Fearrin describe him as thoughtful, kind, and deeply attentive to the people around him. He enjoyed spending time with his children through video games, imaginative play, and everyday moments that strengthened their bond. He was also known for his love of reading and for participating in tabletop role-playing games with friends at Krypton Comets, where he built lasting friendships through shared creativity.
Fearrin’s interests reflected his appreciation for both imagination and connection. Friends recall his contagious laughter, calm demeanor, and ability to find meaning in simple moments. His presence brought comfort and joy to those closest to him.
He is survived by his wife, Baylee Fearrin; sons Jayden, Jackson, and Josiah, all of Kendallville; his mother, Candance Lawrence, and her companion, Junior Valdez, of Kendallville; his father, Erik Burns, and stepmother Leigh Burns, of Georgia; his paternal grandmother, Patricia Moneymaker, of Georgia; maternal grandmother, Constance Buis, of Kendallville; his sister, Bryanna Renae Fearrin, of Kendallville; his brother, Alexander Lee Carlson, of Kendallville; his adopted son, Zachary Bishop, of Indianapolis; and his uncle, Nathan Cook.
Fearrin’s sudden death has left a profound sense of loss among those who knew him. Family and friends say his legacy lives on through the love he gave, the memories he created, and the values he embodied—kindness, gentleness, and devotion to family.
